Summary of Position: Responsible for all systems, equipment and procedures in assigned processes, including but not limited to the following.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Responsible for providing technical direction for assigned processes and equipment
  • Serve as technical resource for others in the company.
  • Management of both technical projects and day to day support for improving quality and efficiency
  • Develop and monitor process controls to ensure process and product reliability.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency
  • Work with vendors and external technical resources to optimize Linetec processes and manage operational costs.
  • Proactive improvement of processes and procedures to maximize performance of key metrics and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain positive communications with a variety of other departments and shifts
  • Write/maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions for assigned processes
  • Develop and maintain training requirements and documentation for assigned processes
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles
  • Manage capital projects from ideation to implementation
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in science or engineering discipline with a strong foundation in Chemistry (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering)
  • 1-3 years applicable experience
  • Computer proficiency (Excel, Outlook, CAD, Allen Bradley PLC experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts
  • Experience with processing equipment and control systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - technical writing experience preferred
  • Project management experience and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work with tools and maintenance personnel
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and influential leadership skills
  • Knowledge in aluminum finishing is a plus

Work Environment:

  • 75% exposure to the production environment. (Heat, operating machinery and noise)
  • Office duties require sitting behind a desk, performing tasks on a computer
  • Plant duties require standing and moving about the facility and equipment on a daily basis
  • Position involves limited travel
